A Midsummer Night’s Eve

A Midsummer Night's Dream

A dreamy evening in midsummer when moonlight works its magic on a wooded scene and creatures and humans take on magical forms. See the fairies flitting above spreading their bewitching dust.

I created this piece in fabrics of shaded black and white stripes with figures and moon from shadowed batik. Beaded fringe hangs from the bottom. A shaggy black trim forms the tree tops and oil pastels shadow the figures, tree trunk, and moon.

How beautiful! This is my favourite Shakespeare, Midsummer Night’s Dream. Magical and full of promise.
